Frequently Asked Questions

What is the dress code, and what shoes should I wear?

We want you to look and feel great, but please keep comfort and the venue in mind! The reception involves walking across lawns, and we are hosting a Cèilidh in the evening. We highly recommend bringing flat, grass-friendly shoes so you can easily join in the dancing.

Where should I park? Can I leave my car overnight?

Parking is available in the field accessed through the lower gate on Gracious Street. You are more than welcome to drive and leave your car in the field overnight, provided it is collected by 12:00 PM (noon) on Sunday.

To get there from the High Street, take the first left before the school down the hill and follow the bend to the left at the bottom.

How do I book a taxi at the end of the night?

The music ends and the bar closes at 11:00 PM, and all guests must depart the site by then. Taxis in the Selborne area are famously difficult to book on the night, so please pre-book your ride in advance for 10:45 PM. We highly recommend using Alton 8's taxis.

Are you having a traditional gift registry?

Your presence on our special day is the only gift we need! If you would like to contribute, we aren’t doing a traditional registry with physical items. Instead, we’ve set up a fee-free digital collection pot for our upcoming honeymoon to Japan! You can easily chip in by visiting our Honeymoon Fund.

How do I get from the ceremony to the reception?

It’s just a short walk! Following the 2:00 PM confetti toss at St. Mary's Church, you will walk down the road to Gilbert White's House stable yard. You'll pass the on-site cafe, head through the member gate on the right, and walk across the lawn straight to the marquee. We will have groomsmen and signage along the path to ensure nobody gets lost.

What time should I arrive?

If you are driving and parking in the field, please aim to arrive at the car park by 1:00 PM. The ceremony at St. Mary's Church will begin promptly at 1:30 PM.

Will there be food available for different dietary requirements?

Yes! Our menu includes specific options for vegetarian (V), vegan (Ve), and gluten-free (GF) diets.

  • Canapés: During the garden party, our selection will feature vegan options (Vegetable Spring Rolls and Mini Vegetable Samosas), a vegetarian option (Parmesan Scone with Sun Blushed Tomato Cream Cheese), and a gluten-free option (Garlic Tiger Prawn and Chorizo Skewer).
  • Main Meal (5:00 PM): We are serving a relaxed carvery. Alongside the slow-roasted pulled pork, there will be a vegan BBQ pulled jackfruit alternative. Gluten-free baps will also be available upon request.
  • Sides: Traditional coleslaw, seasonal green salad, and Mediterranean pasta salad will be served with the main meal.
